“To have more, you must become more. Your success is a reflection of the value you bring to others and your value is a direct reflection of your skill set. The more valuable your skill set, the better your chances of higher achievement”. This holds true if your definition of success includes having a fat bank account.
Almost Everybody I have come into contact with wants to succeed and almost ninety percent of them are not willing to change. Success does not just come on a silver platter. To succeed you must become more and this is not an easy task. Your level of success is linked much to your skill set as a person. What are you willing to offer your market? The market will always pay you what you are worth and how well you are able to beat your competitors.
In this article I try to bring out two processes that will help you achieve your success. The processes maybe complicated but the come down to two. These are based on my own personal experience and have since proved to be worthwhile. The first and most important process is that of acquiring more knowledge. Read related article “Knowledge is key to success”. Remember I said “success is a reflection of the value you bring to others and is direct reflection of your skill set” the best way to improve your skill set is by reading and acquiring more knowledge. You should always be ahead of your competition by learning and mastering new techniques in whatever niche you are providing a service or goods.
The more knowledgeable you are the better the service being provided. A good example is a lawyer the more knowledge he adds to his skills the better he will service his clients and the more the market is willing to pay. This means that the lawyer must be willing to evolve and not stagnate. Acquiring knowledge is a key part of evolution which is key component to success. If you are willing to change and become more I can surely guarantee that you are destined for success.
We all as human beings must strive very hard to increase our knowledge. In this part of the world where I come from, they say if you want to hide something put it in writing. This is because we have a no reading culture hence knowledge is limited.
The second process and which I think is the most important is implementation. Knowledge has to be put to action. There is no need to acquire knowledge and not put it to action. Imagine you want to know more about internet marketing. You read three of four books and attend seminars on internet marketing. You then decide to attend a course. At this stage in my opinion you are very equipped for the task. Then you get busy at your office, you suddenly have to take care of your children and life’s taken over your plans. You have wasted the knowledge. You have lost an opportunity to put your knowledge to action.
Who knows you could have earned yourself some pretty good money had you tried it out. In my opinion knowledge not put to action is opportunity for success missed. And in this day and age opportunities are far and wide. You need to act fast when a window of opportunity opens. Action coupled with perseverance will definitely yield positive or rather desired results.
Action alone cannot achieve success. But action and persistence will guarantee you success. The difference between people who succeed and those who do not is that the successful ones take action and the rest just do not take action, for various reasons; one of them being the fear of failure or indeed the fear of success.
In order to succeed evolution must take place both as an individual and as team or organization. For evolution to take place there must be a continuous process of individual increase in knowledge and an increase in skill. The individual must be willing to learn and change his methods as and when necessary in order that they remain relevant in the niche being serviced. I will end with the way I started “To have more, you must become more. Your success is a reflection of the value you bring to others and your value is a direct reflection of your skill set. The more valuable your skill set, the better your chances of higher achievement”. Remember to always standout tall and be counted.
